Brent Sanders, former CEO of Botox maker Allergan, has his contemporary Miami home listed for $21.9 million.

Located in the Venetian Islands, a series of man-made islands in Biscayne Bay, this waterfront home is approximately 6,700 square feet and has six bedrooms, according to the Corcoran Group’s listing by Mick Duchon and Eloy Carmenate. Dueshon said he is one of about 28 waterfront homes on Biscayne, connected to Miami by a causeway.

Sanders, who moved from New York to Florida in late 2018 for tax and personal reasons, was hit by a wave of buyers during the pandemic. “I was a little ahead of my time,” he said.

He paid $10.75 million for the home in 2019, according to property records. He invested about $5 million in a “substantial” renovation of the house, which was originally built in 2014. On the second floor, he redone the master bedroom and bathroom.

“Coming from the Northeast, it was extraordinary to have the option to live indoors and outdoors,” Sanders said, describing telescoping doors that open to water views. I wanted it to feel clean and light.”

Sanders said he reworked the breakwater and docks, added a boat lift and overhauled the landscaping to create a “tropical oasis” on the property. There is a seating area under the covered patio with a built-in TV and a full outdoor kitchen. A large roof terrace has another kitchen and his two fire pits.

Sanders was chairman and CEO of pharmaceutical company Allergan until the company was acquired in May 2020.

Sanders said it was “heartbreaking” to think about selling the house, but he and wife Daniela Botero, who he married in June 2022, want more space. I need something big,” he said.

“This has been a special place for us, but it’s time to move on to something better.”

Median selling prices in Miami rose 23.5% year-over-year in the second quarter, according to appraisal firm Miller-Samuel.
