Tennessee’s Most Expensive Listing is the $50 Million Estate of a Billionaire Healthcare Mogul

A spectacular southern real estate property owned by Billionaire businessman and HCA Healthcare founder Tom Frist Jr. went on the market on Thursday, demanding $ 50 million. Not only is this house the most expensive list on the Nashville market, but records show it throughout Tennessee.

According to marketing sources, the five-bedroom, 19,800-square-foot home is located on approximately 50 acres and was designed by New York-based architect Ferguson & Shamamian. The entrance is surrounded by a fountain and colonnade porch, and the main level has a variety of elegant entertainment spaces with high ceilings, large windows and plenty of natural light.

According to the pictures in the list, the dramatic living room is designed with high vaulted ceilings with wooden beams, stone fireplaces, floor-to-ceiling windows, and glass doors leading to the outdoor space of the house.

In addition to the formal dining room facing the grounds, the spacious country kitchen has island seating. The vast outdoor space of the house has a covered patio surrounded by arched brick walls, another colonnade porch behind the house, and a large deck surrounding the pool in the basement backyard.

The property includes tennis courts, gazebos and guesthouses on each list, including the main 50-acre site and the adjacent 9-acre building plot.

Uncommented, 83-year-old Frist was ranked by Forbes as the wealthiest person in Tennessee. He co-founded HCA Healthcare, a commercial healthcare facility operator, with his father, Thomas Frist Sr., in 1968.

According to real estate records, Mr. Frist and his late wife, Patricia, who died in 2021, first purchased the property in 1993 for $ 2.2 million. The couple engaged in a wide range of charitable activities, and the charity The Frist Foundation helped establish the Frist Museum in Nashville, which opened in 2001.
