The Dream Hotel Group is expanding to Texas by opening new properties in Frisco, on the southwest corner of the Dallas North Tallway and the US Highway 380.

Over 200 hotels, starting construction in 2023 and scheduled to open in 2026, will secure a new multipurpose development firefly park. The groundbreaking project requires 4.75 million square feet of office space, 2,200 residential units (including luxury mid-to-high-rise condominiums and town homes), and 380,000 square feet of planned retail space. The project will also include a music hall and an open-air amphitheater.

Kyle Wilkes, Wilkes Development

“We’re going to do that with Frisco’s spades,” said Kyle Wilks, CEO of Wilks Development, the developer of Firefly Park. “We are all involved. This is a legacy transaction and we may only have one opportunity to do such a project on this scale.”

If you’ve never heard of Wilks Development, you’re probably not the only one. Based in the town of West Texas in Cisco, the company has developed multipurpose, condominium and industrial projects primarily west of West Texas and Fort Worth. The company is also developing a 200-acre business park called Markum Ranch in West Fort Worth and land on South Lake, about 3.2 kilometers from Fort Worth Alliance Airport.

Wilks, the son of Farris Wilks, half of the famous “Wilks Brothers,” sold a 70% stake in oil and gas service company Frac Tech for $ 3.5 billion in 2011. Dan and Farris Wilks founded and converted FracTech in 2002. Family-owned to the country’s largest independent pressure pump provider.

“Frisco’s new Dream Hotel offers a hospitality experience like no other on the market today, taking firefly park vibrancy and entertainment to a whole new level,” Wilkes said in a statement.

Lin Doodle, Daudre Real Estate

Lindaudre, President of Daudre Real Estate and an expert in the North Texas hospitality industry, has linked the Dream Hotel Group to the Wilkes Development Team. “We are honored to introduce the Dream Hotels brand to this project,” she says. “It’s a perfect fit for the city of Frisco and one of the region’s most anticipated hotel openings. Dream Frisco offers a uniquely sophisticated and cool element.”

Amsterdam-based architect UNStudio and Sasaki Associates designed Firefly Park.

According to Wilkes, Phase 1 of the project will include hotels and will focus on attracting unique restaurant concepts. Equally important are 40 acres of public space with multiple ponds, water functions, hiking and biking trails, and a state-of-the-art children’s playground. “That’s why I got into development,” Wilkes said. D CEO.. “I want to create a place where I can take my kids. My goal is to create a place where I can see the community having fun for years to come.”

Frisco Firefly Park

Wilks Development is known for adding more flair to the project. At The Shops at Willow Park, a mixed-use development about 20 miles west of downtown Fort Worth, Wilkes asked the artist to create a 25-foot stainless steel sculpture of Alligator Gar. He doesn’t have a huge gar plan at Frisco, but he says public art will be a feature of new developments.

When asked why he chose the name Firefly Park, Wilkes says he didn’t intend to choose a dull name. “We want this place to be full of energy and energy,” he says. “Given you’re a kid running through the woods, you catch these fireflies and put them in a jar. For me, it brings back the good memories of my childhood and all the fun I had … I felt this was a good opportunity to throw a curve ball and use something with a little more flair. “

And this project will certainly spark Frisco.
