A small town about 20 miles from downtown Miami, Golden Beach, Florida, about 1.5 acres of land are on the market for $ 100 million.

If it was sold at a price close to that amount, the property would be the most expensive ever to trade in Miami-Dade County. Ryan Sir Hunt of Sir HuntOne of the listing agents.

This property has been owned by the same family for nearly 40 years.

The property was owned by Craig Electronics founder Joel Newman and his wife Edith Newman for nearly 40 years, according to Selhunt. After migrating from Havana, Cuba, Newman launched Craig Electronics, a company that provides electronics to retailers. He died earlier this year.

Newman’s property is one of the largest on Golden Beach, with a 250-foot direct seafront frontage, pool, and approximately 32,000-square-foot main building. The interior of a house built in the 1990s is now a living space. Prior to Mr. Newman’s death, the family was in the midst of a refurbishment, and the property has plans to request approximately 10 bedrooms, a poolside guesthouse and entertainment and wellness space.

According to census data, the population of Golden Beach between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean is less than 1,000. Despite its small size, Golden Beach has long attracted money-making businessmen and celebrities, Selhunt said, but it has the high prices found in nearby Miami Beach and Palm Beach. I never ordered. Last year, designer Tommy Hilfiger and his wife Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger sold their Golden Beach home to real estate investor Grant Cardon for about $ 28 million, records show. The town is also home to singer Ricky Martin.

The property is one of the largest oceanfront homes in the wealthy town of Golden Beach.

Selhunt said the asking price for Newman’s real estate is justified by the demand for large oceanfront real estate in the Miami and Palm Beach areas. He said he believes that Golden Beach has historically been undervalued.

“Is $ 100 million a lot of money? Yes,” Selhunt said. “But this is a $ 300 million real estate property on Palm Beach and could be more.”

He could take years to build a waterfront property of this size in the Miami area, which could be a “significant time and cost savings” for future buyers. Said.

Serhant sells this property in partnership with Dina Goldentayer.
