A new 3,725-square-foot home overlooking the Wedge in Newport Beach is on the market for $35.995 million, or $9,663 per square foot.

This makes it the most expensive per square foot home for sale in Orange County (and Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties as well).

At the asking price, the property, known as The Wedge House, will surpass OC’s current record-holder, a five-bedroom, nearly 5,000-square-foot Laguna Beach home. Sold in August for $43.5 million, or $8,733 per square foot.

This home is marketed as an ‘entertainer’s paradise’.

Graham Architecture designed the contemporary style of Chris Gallo of Gallo Builders in a four-bedroom, four-bathroom completed this year on two seafront lots on the edge of the Balboa Peninsula. The property has 140 feet of view frontage. In addition to front row views of famous surf spots, you’ll have views of the ocean, beaches, straits and city lights from within the home.

A custom pivot door opens to a soaring double height foyer.

The lower level includes offices with outdoor access, changing rooms with showers, and a beachfront primary suite. There are two walk-in closets, a spa-style bathroom with separate tub and rain shower, and his two sets of glass pocket doors that open onto a seafront patio with a fireplace.

Elevators with thick glass rails or floating staircases take you to the main level.

A wall of glass opens the kitchen and great room to the outdoors, including a courtyard with outdoor cooking space.
