What are the good things about this house? Owner suite? no. A first floor bedroom with a slider to the deck? No.
A lighthouse overlooking the harbor? yes.
With direct access to the sandy beach along Hyannis Harbour, our contemporary 3 bedroom has its own lighthouse with space for naps and basking. It’s a great place with 360 degree views.
But the 2,417-square-foot main building, which is by all definitions a home, sits at the end of the road. The main entrance opens onto the dining/kitchen area. The dining area opens onto his three windows with harbor views, with oak floors and a chandelier with bulbs that mimic candles.
A peninsula of white cabinetry with bronze hardware and granite counters separates the dining area from the kitchen. Flooring also acts as a visual separator. In the kitchen, oak planks are combined with green porcelain tile squares to create a luxurious effect. Above the sink he has two casement windows, the appliances are stainless steel, and the backsplash is subway white tile.
The oak flooring in the dining room flows into the living room. First, you get a great view of the harbor through the slider. These doors run the length of the house and lead to decks that wrap around the house. Then the loft hangs above the living room and forms the ceiling for about 75% of the space. Have you ever been to the lower deck of the USS Constitution? That’s what this space looks like, but in a modern iteration: beams intersect ceilings dotted with recessed lighting.
The first floor bedroom is off the living room. There is carpet, ceiling fans and sliders to the deck. A full bath, also off the living room, features synthetic countertops, ocean blue porcelain tile floors, and a single vanity with a shower behind glass doors and glass blocks.
A wooden staircase in the living room leads to the upper level of the home where the office/seating area beckons first. Hmm.
The primary suite is behind French doors. It has a king size bed and plenty of space as a seating area. The suite is carpeted and has a ceiling fan and his two closets. Above the bed is a long transom window with sliders to a private deck with views of the harbor and Lewis Bay in the distance.
The private bathroom is through a wooden door that holds decorative glass with camming. Behind that door is the Panache, or more precisely Piscine, bathroom. The double vanity has a white sink lined with images of blue fish, the walls have fish tiles that swim from one side of the room to the other, and the shower sports fish with blue tiles. The shower pan is dark blue, while the rest of the bathroom has white porcelain tile floors.
The home’s third bedroom is located on the other side of the loft office space. Like the owner suite, the bedroom is carpeted and has two closets and a ceiling fan.
The main bath has white porcelain tile on the floor and walls, a single white vanity, and a shower/bath combination. There is a skylight.
the house is in a flooded area, According to the FEMA map on the town’s website.
