Recent photos show an old building completely covered with scaffolding and construction nets, with roof crews working to dismantle the structure from top to bottom.
Given the modest size of the building, demolition could reach street levels this summer. Excavations and foundations are likely to proceed near the end of the year, and superstructure work should be visible throughout 2023.
The 80,000-square-foot International Headquarters of the Covenant House is right next door to 460 West 41st Street. The building being demolished was purchased by Goldman Sachs Asset Management JV and was previously used by the Covenant House and emptied before it was demolished.
