Average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Massachusetts is 19% higher in August than in August 2021, according to Recent reports from ApartmentAdvisor.com.
ApartmentAdvisor, a real estate listing site, analyzes the properties on the website and derives findings.
Last month’s median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Massachusetts was $2,500.
Meanwhile, in Cambridge, Massachusetts’ highest rent, the median one-bedroom rent rose to $2,980. This reflects a change of 19.5% year-on-year.
According to the report, Boston ranks second in a tally of the most expensive one-bedroom apartment rental markets in the Commonwealth. Boston’s median rent in that category was $2,880 in August, which is up a whopping 28% compared to the same period last year, and he reflects an 8.7% increase month-over-month.
Medford ranked third with a median rent of $2,749, followed by Melrose, Brookline and Newton. (Note: For large changes in inventory, such as large multifamily developments open to lease, the website considers the “weighted average price of similar units of the same property when including the individual units.”) I put it in.)
Good news for renters? Median rents have dropped significantly in some communities. So, if you’re looking for a one-bedroom deal, head west of Boston to Shrewsbury (-15.5%), Waltham (-14%), Framingham (-13.5%), Natick (-10.6). %).
