Two Maine locations that offer larger-than-average homes at lower prices were included in Realtor.com’s list of top 10 U.S. zip codes and generated the most interest from homebuyers who visited the company’s website this year. Collected.
Zip code 04062, which covers most of Windham, a town of just over 18,000 on Sebago Lake in Cumberland County, ranked fifth.That is Up from 15th place last yearThe 04210 zip code of Auburn, a city of just over 23,200 people in Androscoggin County, ranked 10th. Listed for the first time.
The top 10 ZIP code rankings are occupied by New England cities and towns, with New Hampshire’s Nashua, Derry, and Hooksett in 2nd, 4th, and 8th respectively. 9th place is North Attleboro, Massachusetts.
Brighton, New York, in the Rochester metropolitan area, ranked first and Worthington, Ohio ranked third. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, No. 6. Johnson City, Tennessee rounded out the top ten with his seventh.

The Nashua area tended to attract views from Boston homebuyers. The percentage of Boston buyers considering Boston real estate has declined by almost 8 percentage points between 2021 and 2022.
According to Realtor.com, the hot zip code is priced higher than surrounding areas, but still cheaper than Boston, and offers homebuyers a deal.
Affordability has become a top concern among homebuyers this year as prices and mortgage rates have risen. According to the listing service, common themes for zip codes were “value for money” and “relatively affordable” compared to nearby more expensive cities such as Portland and Boston.
The average price for all top 10 zip codes reached $432,000 in June. This was 4% lower than the national median of $450,000. The average listing price in June was $505,000 at Wyndham and $267,000 at Auburn.
Millennials make up the majority of homeownership in the top 10 zip codes, with 57% of millennials owning a home compared to 51% nationwide. Millennials in these regions tended to have higher incomes than their national peers, increased their purchasing power, and owned more homes.
